Randy Radke's Black & White Photographs were
inspired by the North Shore's Great Salt Marsh

AN AWARD ANNOUNCEMENT, 2000

"A Sense of Place - Part 1"
May 5 - July 9, 2000

A collaborative art  exhibition between the Newburyport Art Association and the Newburyport Maritime Society at the Custom House Museum.  Supported in part by the Mass. Cultural Council through the Newburyport Cultural Council.  Photography, printmaking, drawing and sculpture.

Works Selected for Overall Artistic Excellence

The guest curators selected fourteen works that exemplify the theme of the exhibition and overall artistic excellence.  This comment was posted about "Dark and Stormy, Parking Lot #3, Wildlife Refuge, Plum Island" a Black and White Photograph by Randy Radke, Newburyport, MA.

"The world is truly a feast for the eyes.  A white beach and dark sky is a rare sight.  I sense aloneness in the landscape that has been constructed for human traffic."
                    Chris Enos, guest curator.

Guest curator Chris Enos lives on Plum Island and is an award winning photographer, lecturer and author who has been teaching and exhibiting since the early 1970's.  She has works in the collections of the Addison Gallery of American Art, Andover, MA, George Eastman House, Rochester, NY, Fogg Museum of Harvard University, J. Paul Getty Museum, Malibu, CA, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, TX, Portland Museum of Art, Portland, ME.
